Hi there
I'm Anne. Also Annie; I go by either one. I'm a mom, nana, spouse to G, writer, recovering worrier, lucky friend, and enthusiast of ideas, stories, joy, design, parenting, art, movies, innovation, faith, wonder, delight, and a good chat.
Basically, I'm an enthusiast of development, always curious about how we become who we are and make meaning from our experiences. An English major & story girl at heart, I’ve followed that thread of curiosity from many angles: through the pages of novels, to the pursuit of a dev psych PhD, to developmental program and research work around the world (more about the career side of things here).
I started this blog in 2006 as a way to document our family life & think out loud about some of my wonderings and wanderings. It’s become a family memory bank, a creative outlet, and a really wonderful way to meet and connect with new and longtime friends. Welcome!
I write.
This is where I write about life, parenting & family relationships, travel, religion, design, music, books, and ideas with some photos and silliness thrown into the mix. I've been blogging since 2005.
You can also find me at Segullah, where I've posted essays with a religious flavor. And at a now-inactive mid-stage parenting blog I wrote with my friend Sarah called Nest & Launch.
